Library Cards are issued upon complete application. Below are the guidelines to receive a library card. Children’s cards require a parent or guardian’s signature.
Your Deschutes Public Library card is a valuable and powerful tool. You must have
a Library card to borrow any of the wide variety of free information and entertainment
materials and to use the Internet while in any of the Library’s facilities. It will
also provide access to the Library’s many powerful subscription databases from your
home, office, or school computer. Your Library card contains confidential information
which is available on-line, by telephone, or in person IF you have your card or
confirming identification. You are responsible for all fines, fees, and materials
checked out on your or your child’s Library card. If your card is lost or stolen
please call your local branch library or 617-7050 so that we can prevent misuse
of your Library card.
To apply for a Library card you must show proof of Deschutes County residency in the form of a valid Oregon Driver’s license with current Deschutes County address OR photo identification and acceptable proof of current Deschutes County address, such as:
