The Deschutes Public Library is pleased to announce the availability of the recently completed community-wide demographic study performed by CivicTechnologies, Inc. (http://www.civictechnologies.com/) of Pasadena, Ca. The study was commissioned to assist the library in long-term planning. In addition to the library-specific information in the study, there is a great deal of local demographic information that is of interest to the community at large. The Deschutes Public Library is pleased to share this information with the residents of Deschutes County.

The size of the study makes it difficult to electronically share it in its entirety. Below you'll find a download link to chapter two that includes an entire Countywide snapshot. The Countywide snapshot provides an overview of the county's population growth profile, market profile, business profile, economic sustainability profile, consumer expenditure profile, and community tapestry lifestyle segmentation profile.

One of the most interesting aspects of the study, "The Community™ Tapestry™ segmentation system combines the who of lifestyle demography with the where of local neighborhood geography to create a model of various lifestyle classifications or segments of actual neighborhoods..."
